Important info before choosing SMTP Zen

Non-negotiable policies to review before you sign up so there are no surprises.

SMTP Zen is built for transactional and relationship email, not bulk marketing, cold email marketing or any spam activity. Please read these commitments before you create a plan.

What we are (and are not)

  • Transactional-first: password resets, receipts, account alerts, and one-to-one or small team correspondence and business emailing are our focus.
  • Not a marketing platform: we do not support cold outreach, blast campaigns, purchased/rented lists, affiliate promos, or any unsolicited marketing. If your primary need is marketing automation, choose a provider designed for that workload.
  • Consent only: every recipient must have explicitly agreed to hear from you. Unsolicited mail is treated as spam and violates our terms.

Deliverability guardrails you must respect

  • Hourly throughput is capped (see Service Limits) to protect shared IP reputation.
  • We enforce SPF, DKIM, and DMARC alignment and run automated abuse filters. Attempts to bypass these controls lead to suspension of the account.
  • High complaints, repeated bounces, or suspicious patterns trigger throttles or full termination without notice or refund.

Refund stance

  • Refunds are only considered when SMTP Zen fails to deliver the service as advertised to users that were not / did not break any of the terms and conditions and informations hereby.
  • Violations of terms (spam, cold outreach, abuse, payment fraud) void any refund request. Terminations for policy breaches are final.
  • Cancellations follow the lifecycle in Cancellations and Refunds; once a plan is deleted, related data is removed and not recoverable.

Data handling on termination

  • Involuntary or policy-driven terminations remove accounts, domains, mailboxes, stored mail, backups, forwarding rules, and logs tied to the plan.
  • There is no recovery window. Keep local backups if you foresee billing or compliance risks.

Quick self-check before signing up

  • Do you need to send cold outreach or high-volume marketing? If yes, SMTP Zen is not a fit.
  • Can you prove consent for every address you message? If not, fix that first.
  • Are you comfortable with no refunds for terms violations and with strict traffic limits? If not, consider an alternative provider.

By signing up you agree to these expectations and to the Terms & Conditions. We keep policies firm so all compliant customers enjoy stable deliverability.
