Forwarding, Catch-all & Spam Controls

Route messages exactly where you want them per domain.

Not every address needs a mailbox. SMTP Zen lets you combine aliases, catch-all rules and spam handling so the right messages reach the right people every time.

Forwarders

  1. Expand a domain inside the Plan Manager → Domains tab.
  2. Open the Forwarders section.
  3. Click Add forwarder, provide the alias (what comes before @) and the destination address.
  4. Save to start forwarding immediately.

You can edit a forwarder to change the destination or remove it entirely if it is no longer required. Use forwarders for roles such as jobs@, info@ or for routing copies into external ticketing systems.

Catch-all behavior

The Catch-all quick action in each domain card determines what happens when someone emails a non-existent address on your domain. You can:

  • Reject it with a standard SMTP error
  • Silently discard it (blackhole)
  • Point everything to a specific mailbox

Choose the option that best fits your spam tolerance. Most teams send unknown mail to a single review mailbox so nothing important slips through.

Spam controls

The Manage Spam button opens detailed filtering settings. Typical adjustments include:

  • Sensitivity level (how aggressive the filter should be)
  • Whether marked messages land in the inbox, the spam folder or get deleted
  • Whether to attach the original message for review

Tune these per domain. When testing, use the email logs to confirm legitimate messages stay green (delivered) and real spam shows up as filtered.
